As part of the HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living) initiative, we partner with area businesses to promote healthy food choices for our citizens and guests. The simple changes businesses are asked to make to become a recognized HEAL partner are highlighted below.

Restaurants

 

• Disclose the calorie amount and grams of fat for each menu item. This can be listed on a menu or menu board in a clear and conspicuous place 
• Remove foods containing artificial trans fat from menu offerings

Food Retailers

 

• Prominently feature healthy checkout lanes free of high density and/or junk foods 
• Move as many displays of fruits, nuts, and vegetables near the front area for convenient access as patrons come into the store
