Sand Springs Storm Water Management Program
Rainwater transporting pollutants from streets and yards is one of the leading causes of water pollution in the nation. To help reduce the amount of pollution entering the environment, federal regulations requires that Sand Springs, like other communities, implement a storm water management program.

This program involves:

  • Public awareness and involvement of storm water issues
  • Monitoring of storm water discharges into area creeks and the Arkansas River
  • Construction site storm water control
  • Pollution prevention and good housekeeping at city owned facilities

To learn more about how you can help improve Sand Springs’ water quality, check out the brochures listed on the Storm Water/Environmental Brochures page.

If you have questions or would like to a speaker to discuss stormwater issues with your school, neighborhood association, or civic group call 918-246-2500 x 2589.
