Sand Springs Stormwater Management Program
stream.png

Rainwater transporting pollutants from streets and yards is one of the leading causes of water pollution in the nation. To help reduce the amount of pollution entering the environment, federal regulations requires that Sand Springs, like other communities, implement a Stormwater Management Program.

This program involves:

  • Public awareness and involvement of Stormwater issues

  • Monitoring of Stormwater discharges into area creeks and the Arkansas River

  • Construction site Stormwater control

  • Pollution prevention and good housekeeping at City-owned facilities
