About the Board
The SSDA is made up of five members who are residents of Sand Springs and whose appointments are made by the City Council. Members serve without pay for a period of three years. Duties and obligations of the Development Authority can be found in O.S. Title 11, Chapter 1, Section 38-107.

The Development Authority is tasked to create a workable program which carries out Urban Renewal activities utilizing appropriate public and private resources. Their oversight would include rehabilitation or conservation of blighted areas by re-planning, removing congestion, providing parks, playgrounds and other public improvements, by encouraging voluntary rehabilitation and by compelling the repair and rehabilitation of deteriorated or deteriorating structures.
