Water Service
The City of Sand Springs treats and provides drinking water to 11,500 customers within a 150 square-mile service area, with approximately 4,500 of those customers residing outside of the City limits. The City draws most of its raw water from Skiatook Lake through a joint operating agreement with the City of Sapulpa. Shell Creek Lake serves as a secondary source of raw water. Unlike most cities in the Tulsa area, Sand Springs has its own water supply and treatment facilities and is not reliant on another municipality or entity for such a vital utility.
New Service or Disconnects
You must complete the Application for utility service and pay a deposit prior to utility services being connected. To do so, visit the Customer Service Department at the Municipal Building (100 E Broadway - first floor) or call 918-246-2527.
- Download the New Service Application
Important
New Services are connected on the business day following receipt and acceptance of application or may be set for a future date, if needed.
On the day service connection is scheduled, please plan for someone to be present at the premises. If no one can be there, make sure all water faucets are turned off. Should the City attempt to connect the water service in your absence and find an open tap, the water will not be left on. A $25.00 service charge will incur if another trip is required to install water service.
New Water Taps: Call (918) 246-2526.
Disconnects
When you move, it is your responsibility to advise the City of the date on which you wish services to be discontinued. Payment of bills continues to be your obligation until the City has received notification to disconnect.
Deposits
- Residential: $100 minimum
- Commercial: ranges from $100 minimum
